Noticeable upswing for fitness studios

We have all been looking forward to the reopenings of fitness centres. In the past months, members had no or only limited access to fitness at their much-loved studios. How much they missed their studios can be seen in the graph on check-ins after the reopening: members are steadily coming back to the gyms!

The number of check-ins in fitness facilities has increased continuously after the reopening. The chart shows the check-in figures from Germany, Austria and Switzerland compared to the previous year.

The level of the previous year has not yet been reached – but that’s due to the fact that liftings have been treated differently and with a time lag in the different regions.

As more regions open up completely as well, the check -ins are anticipated to increase even further. The trend and outlook is very positive! Members want to be back in the gym!

Membership signings increase

Besides the check- ins also the numbers of new membership signings are increasing! Finally gyms are winning more members than they are losing again.

Focus on membership recruitment

Now is the time to acquire new members again! Take advantage of the positive trend and people being keen on training in the facilities again!

It is important that you as a fitness provider are now more visible than ever to new (and old) members. The best and easiest way to do this is through social media advertising since you can target your potential customers precisely and send very strong messages with exclusive deals.

Hygiene measures in fitness studios are effective – infection rate is low

Fitness studios have implemented many hygiene concepts that ensure the safety of their members. These strict hygiene measures make members feel safe- for a reason. A study by EuropeActive showed that out of more than 62 million gym visitors, only 487 positive cases were registered. The infection rate is therefore very low.

Hygiene for more safety

New and old members must feel safe when training with you, especially during this time. This includes hygiene measures such as hygiene stations and spacing. By making sure you have as many health measures as possible in place and are communicating these to your members you decrease the hurdle for them to train in your studio.
